![]() ![]() cdi into a disk the Dreamcast can boot up. cdi from a folder containing the plain files of ScummVM and then use Bootdreams again to burn that. To burn a bootable disk you simply need to use the Bootdreams program to create a. Here is the new updated list of old school games you can play on your Dreamcast:ĪGOS Games by Adventuresoft / Horrorsoft:īroken Sword 1: The Shadow of the Templars Some of them even appear on abandonware game sites frequently (abandonware games no longer have copyright protection and thus free and legal to download). However, most of these games are cheap and easy to get. Either way you still NEED the original game files to play the game. Or you can be fancy and put the game files on the same CD. With the new program out you can simply boot up your Dreamcast with a copy of ScummVM and then CD swap for the original game. (For the lazy blogger who just wants something to download for their Dreamcast there is a newly released full version ScummVM game download link at the bottom of this – feel free to skip the rest) The only drawback is that you need the original game files for it to work. This nifty little program allows the user to play a number of older PC titles on bunch of different systems. (The Dreamcast version is towards the bottom of the list next to the Dreamcast Swirl) It’s a great day for fans of “point and click” adventure games and the Dreamcast: However, there IS new Dreamcast news out that I felt was “blog-able” for the Junkyard, a bit on the technical / old school PC gamer style though… I will be posting that as soon as it’s edited… I had wanted my first post to be the video of my collection but that was not meant to be. I don't know how file permissions work under Windows XP anyway.Let me first say that it is an honor and a privilege to be posting on the Dreamcast Junkyard. If that still doesn't help, the only thing I can think of are if you don't have permission to read the file, but that seems unlikely. One more wild theory: Is your speech2.clu really copied from the second CD, or did you accidentally copy the one from the first CD twice? As I said before, the files have different sizes (at least in the English version), so it should be easy to tell them apart that way. While some failures are completely normal, it shouldn't fail on all the forms of the speech file name. In the case of Broken Sword 2, it will look in any folder named "clusters", "sword2" or "video".Īgain, the debug messages described earlier in the thread will indicate when it fails to open a file. In addition, depending on the game it may look in a few folders inside that one. ![]() To elaborate a bit, ScummVM will look primarily in the folder you pointed it to when you added the game. I have now deleted everything apart from what you have named and unfortunatly no difference.Īnd all files are where ScummVM can find them? As you can see, I placed all the files (except the cutscenes) in the same folder. Wo33er wrote:I had a hell of alot of files in my folder than the ones listed due to copying over every file on both CD's into one folder. Since ScummVM will look for both "speech.clu" and "speech2.clu", and compressed version of them, there will always be a few such warnings, but if the file cannot be found at all you would this whenever you try to examine something: you use the "-d 2" command-line option like "scummvm -d 2 sword2", it should print a message whenever it cannot find a file it's looking for. If you start ScummVM from a command shell, and set the debug level to at least 2, i.e. You hear speech when examining objects in your inventory, but not for anything else in the jungle? The only way I can think of to reproduce that is if the speech file from the first CD is named "speech.clu" (instead of speech1.clu) and "speech2.clu" can't be found. The sound worked perfect beforehand and even when i right click (look at) old items in my inventory i hear speech to describe them. spoiling the game, the sound did stop at the jungle.
